Land rover has beaten BMW in India in the SUV segment. Land Rover is priced very well in India from starting Rs 35 lakhs till Rs 1.11 crore while BMW SUV starting is from Rs 55 lakh.
Land Rover currently sells models including Freelander 2, Discovery 4 Sport Tourer, The Range Rover Sport and the Range Rover in India.
Land Rover has sold 35 units compared to 15 units by BMW in the month of January. Audi has sold 114 units while Mercedes sold 6 units.
“v r encouraged by the response 2 d Land Rover vehicles in India,” said Rohit Suri, head of premier car division at Tata Motors.
BMW is currently has plans to start assembling the X1 in India as a entry level SUV that will be priced competitively around Rs 26 lakhs.
